Visiting with friends at Kym's Place  A Fresh Cup Of Coffee for Scripture & A Snapshot

Linking up this week with Scripture & A Snapshot @ Kym's place.

I'd like to introduce you to a sweet new musical film featuring Christian comedian Chonda Pierece called THE CONFESSION, based on the popular book by Beverly Lewis, about a young Amish woman who finds out that she was adopted by a non-Amish woman. This professionally filmed stage production releases in theaters on February 20th only, so get ready to be inspired!

THE CONFESSION MUSICAL was adapted for the stage by Emmy-Nominated screenwriter Martha Bolton. The musical follows the story of Katie Lapp, a young Amish girl who discovers that her parents have been keeping a deep secret...that she is adopted. Katie decides to find her birth mother, defying the rules of her Amish village and risking a shunning. Meanwhile, Laura Mayfield, her wealthy birth mother who is battling an illness that might take her life, began searching for her long-lost daughter. Secretly plotting against Laura is her gold-digging husband, Dylan (John Schneider). Dylan knows that if Katie is found, he will no longer inherit Laura’s fortune. With the help and prayers of her Christian housekeeper (Chonda Pierce), Laura hopes to foil Dylan’s plan and be reunited with her daughter.

—I'm not much of a musical person, but I've got to tell you this grabbed my attention and piqued my interest. This is one musical that I'm definitely looking forward to seeing. #TheConfessionMIN

My Review

What's the first thing that pops into your head when you see or hear the word TEXT? Is it a text message, font style, textbook, or others? I had seen the TEXT Bible around, and I initially thought it was a new translation. How wrong I was when I realized it was the NET Bible with the TEXT study method.

As I said, I had seen the TEXT Bible around and was curious. So when I was presented with the opportunity to review it, I couldn't wait.

Since I was reading the book of James, I decided to begin my review from there. I was pleasantly pleased with how easy it was to follow the TEXT format. The flow and wording are really easy to understand.

This hardback NET T.E.X.T Bible comes with two satin ribbon bookmarks, Two additional bookmarks with the TEXT method printed on them, and a small poster infographic to aid in your study time.

The only downside or con for me was the 9-point comfort print. I'm usually okay with the 9-point size, so I don't know what was going on with me. But I did find it problematic.

My favorite part would have to be the praying TEXT section. This is something I've been striving to build upon.

The NET T.E.X.T Is a Bible for students of all ages and stages in their relationship with God. This writing does not talk down to learners but teaches who God is, how to engage with Scripture, and how to have a personal relationship with him.

You'll enjoy an Accessible new Scripture Engagement Method (TEXT) that connects Scripture to all life. I recommend this Bible as it will make an excellent resource for teens, young adults, new believers, and anyone who doesn't feel confident engaging Scripture on their own. This means you too advanced learners, if you ever encounter a dry spell.

So I finally got around to taking pictures of what I've been working on for the Christmas season. There's a Christmas craft fair coming up, and I wanted to show you guys what I'm taking.

Photos from me to you.

First up. Foam fabric gnome wreath.

Tobacco basket for hanging.

Snowflake wreath, made from Dollar Tree Christmas trees.

Ornaments made from small embroidery hoops.

Christmas wreath on wooden bead hoop.

Ornaments and a cutting board hangy.

Wrapped ribbon wreath on 12' foam frame.

Rose pink and green on a beaded hoop.

The lighting's not great, but you get the idea. Fabric and sign inside the picture frame. Bling on the frame.

I'm still relatively new to crafting. Sometimes I'm Woo Hoo! And other times, I'm like, Meh! Lol. I'm thinking about trying card making too.

Moms, do you want to focus on Jesus this Christmas? Take your family to see IT'S CHRISTMAS AGAIN on November 29th!

IT'S CHRISTMAS AGAIN is a modern-day musical the whole family will love!

Jake Young (Lawson Touliatos) wants nothing more than to spend his

Christmas vacation with his girlfriend, Abbey Walker (Leela Owen). So when Abbey volunteers for her church's Christmas play, Jake is ready to skip Christmas this year. Until an unexpected turn of events lands him in a field outside Bethlehem on the night, Jesus was born.

While on his journey with the shepherds to find the promised Messiah, Jake discovers the true meaning of Christmas. Coming this Christmas season, IT'S CHRISTMAS AGAIN is a modern-day musical the whole family will love!

My Review

This musical warmed my heart. Jake Young is a kid with a friendly personality and a bit sarcastic. He's Bah-Humbug and grumpy about Christmas. He planned to spend Christmas vacation with his girlfriend, Abby. When he learns Abby volunteered to be in a Christmas play, he attempts to talk her out of it and go to a party instead. Jakes is baffled that Abby chose to stay and do the play. Jake's perplexed as he rides away on his skateboard, not paying attention.

Suddenly!

A driver opened his car door to get out. Jake runs into the car door and lands on the pavement with a thud. Knocked out cold. He finds himself in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus' birth. At first, thinking his friends are playing a trick on him. He quickly discovers the true meaning of Christmas. While traveling with his new friends to seek out the Massiah (after the group encounters an angel).

I smiled and was warmed by Jake's awe and wonderment about what he learned and met Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Find out how Jake is transformed by his adventure through time.

I recommend IT'S CHRISTMAS AGAIN, a modern-day musical the whole family will love!
